Inline Hockey started in 1990 in Australia in a car park on Chapel street. Inline hockey is often referred to as Ice Hockey’s little brother, but Inline Hockey is quite different from Ice Hockey. The main difference between the two codes is that inline hockey is non contact, which means there is no boarding or body checks. This makes the sport one of the fastest sports in the world and the injury factor is very low.
The game of inline hockey is played with four skaters on the floor and one goaltender in your net. You can have a maximum of fourteen skaters and two goaltenders on you team list or roster. Inline hockey is played with a puck, and the game is played on a concrete, wooden or tiled surface called a rink. The rink is surrounded by a barrier called the boards. The game is played for 2 x 20 halves or 4 x 10 minute periods.
